Expanded Developer Pages
Our developer pages have been improved. New: an information page per country, explaining the specific characteristics of the postal code system. This is essential for implementing our API correctly.
New and Expanded Locator API Calls per Country
We’ve worked on parity: both GET
and POST
methods are now available for most countries. Newly added:
- /v2/locator/nl (POST)
- /v2/locator/lu (GET)
- /v2/locator/fr (GET)
- /v2/locator/de (GET)
- /v2/locator/dk (POST)
Additionally, we’ve improved the road network algorithm — there is no longer a 5 km limit in the Locator. POST
methods allow sending larger datasets than GET
.
Introduction of pro6pp.com
In addition to pro6pp.nl, there is now pro6pp.com, aimed at our international customers. This is part of a broader strategy around SEO and internationalization. We are happy to share our experiences with others looking to scale internationally. Let us know if you're interested.
Call: Pro6PP Sounding Board Group
We're looking for active users who want to help shape the development direction of our API and datasets. This group meets twice a year to discuss new ideas, structural bottlenecks, and desired improvements.
Interested? Send a short email to support@pro6pp.nl. As a thank you, we offer extra credits and early access to new features.
One Input Field for an Address
We're currently working on a new API call for smart input: one field where users can freely type an address, and the system automatically interprets and completes it. Examples:
Keizersgracht 123 Amsterdam
123, AMS
We'll start testing this with a small group of users from the sounding board group. If feedback is positive, we’ll scale up quickly.
Depth in Data More Important than Number of Countries
Our focus is shifting from expanding to more countries to improving quality and depth. For example, the autocomplete API recently added the field plot_size
(Netherlands only), available in 'Special' subscriptions where we combine multiple data sources.
A user suggested a data source for parcel size — it’s now integrated, allowing all users to request not just surface area but also parcel size. Keep sending your data suggestions.
Your Input
We welcome your ideas and suggestions for new countries or API functions. Several users requested the United Kingdom — this is now in development.
The one input field feature also resulted from a previous newsletter poll, showing the value of continued user engagement through the sounding board group.
